Keli Hansen - Director

Hi, my name is Keli Hansen. I came to FaithSteps as a Pre-K teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. In 2018-2019 I became the Director as well as a teacher. During that time I have been very blessed to share in the lives of the students, families and staff at FaithSteps.

Over the course of my Early Childhood career I have been able to explore many different facets of the profession. I began babysitting in my early teens, next I became a mom in 1980 and to be able to stay home with my 4 young children I became a licensed Child Care Provider. The next step in my journey, when my youngest child was 4 was to be asked to be a substitute preschool teacher at her parent-coop preschool, from there I was offered the position of Art teacher at the school. When a teaching position opened at the school I was very excited to be selected for the job! I soon went back to college to get my Directors certification and became Assistant Director and Teacher at the same coop. I left my position there to be the Infant Supervisor at the UNC Child Care Center for a few years before returning to the niche I love the most, a preschool age teacher at the same coop. I served as the Director/Teacher of the school for 6 years prior to coming to Windsor and finding my home at FaithSteps.

My own children are now all grown and have given me many wonderful grandchildren! Four of them have been students at FaithSteps. I love working with young children, helping them discover the joys of learning as they explore their world. I am so thankful that God selected the path of working with young children for me.

Linda Barr - Teacher Aide

Hi my name is Linda Barr, I am married to Brent Barr. I have two sons and five stepsons. I have thirteen grandchildren, eight granddaughters and five grandsons. The girls are winning!

I don't remember a time that I wasn't working with children. As a teenager I did babysitting. After I got married I worked in the youth and children's programs at church. I taught Sunday school and VBS for many years.

I worked full time as a hairdresser when the boys were born. After a few years I decided I wanted to stay home with them, so I started a home daycare. I did that for twelve years. We were all like family. I'm still in touch with many of them.

When our youngest graduated from high school, my husband got a job opportunity to work in South Texas. We lived there for fifteen years. We loved it! I worked at a family owned gift boutique for eight years. Most of our family is in this area, so when given the chance to come back we did. We are enjoying being back around family. That brings me to my present position here at FaithSteps. I am starting my seventh year here. I enjoy working with the children and love my fellow coworkers.
